How Judah has survived these past three weeks is beyond me, seeing as I only now ran across these instructions for caring for a baby.
The air horn one actually made me tear up a little bit.
In all seriousness, the wee man is doing infintely better. There’s hardly any shrill crying anymore; or at least, we know how to stifle it in a hurry once we sense that a meltdown is approaching.
He’s now down to one nighttime feeding, and we have our system down pat: Jared takes the 11:00 p.m. feeding and I take the 3 a.m. feeding. That means I get to sleep undisturbed from about 10 to 3 (never thought I’d be so happy about five continual hours of sleep in my life), and Jared gets to sleep from around 12 to 7. It’s not exactly equal, but I guess he is supporting the family and all. Then Judah is up at 7 and we tend to doze in bed together until around 9.
This newborn stuff? Total cakewalk. (I’m knocking vigoriously on wood, if you recall what happened last time I got cocky about my son being an “easy baby.”)

The grocery one made me giggle…seeing the little legs poking out of the cart under all the food. (Is that sick that I laughed at that?)
So glad to hear things are going smoother…it just takes a while to get into a routine. Way to go Jareds! I hear ya on the five hours of sleep thing. I remember the first time I was able to sleep five hours in a row – I felt like I could go all day on that kind of sleep! You guys are doing a great job!

I am glad lil guy is doing better. You both sound like your doing great with him. I loved the 4-5 hours of sleep stage. Daniel pulled this shift for me as well for two weeks after mom left. It was nice. SDS shows us his sweet personality with a shrill scream or two still .. (last night at 9pm). He didn’t want his bottle and he didn’t want to sleep. ha ha. He wanted sleep more than he knew.
Murphy is so cute. I love that he likes to protect Judah. How sweet.

If Jared takes the 11pm feeding, does this mean you’re no longer breastfeeding? Just curious ’cause I plan to go the breastfeeding route and was wondering how I could get daddy involved. If you’re pumping, can you recommend a pump. I’m so clueless with this stuff.
Also, how is mommy doing? Is your c-section healing nicely?

I agree with all those instructions except the “playing with baby” one. They love it when you throw them up in the air. As long as you can catch, of course.

how in the world did you find such a site?? those photos are classic.
and p.s. i’m so happy for you re: getting to sleep 5 straight hours. that’s great!!

Um, you DO understand that you’re not allowed to post anything without a pic of the baby included, right? I’ll let it slide this time, but NOT AGAIN.
Ahem.

A) Don’t you LOVE the dozing in bed with your infant phase?? Lauren and I cuddle every morning, and Noah now likes to join us.
B) I can’t even stand how long it’s been since I held Judah and literally might not be able to wait until I can see him again!!
